₹ 6.5 Crore For Development Agri Colleges In AP: VC

KURNOOL: The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) has sanctioned ₹6.50 crore for the development of agricultural colleges affiliated with Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University (ANGRAU), said vice-chancellor Dr Sarada Jayalakshmi.On Saturday night, the annual function of the agricultural college was held under the auspices of dean V. Jayalakshmi. Prizes were distributed to students who excelled in sports competitions.Speaking on the occasion, the vice-chancellor said that the National Education Policy is being implemented in agricultural education to enhance learning outcomes. She noted that along with the BPT-5204 rice variety, the Jinnah Heritage Foundation in New Delhi has developed golden varieties that are free from chemical insecticides through innovative technologies. She added that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is taking significant steps to strengthen agricultural colleges and introduce new technologies to benefit farmers and students alike. Dean of agriculture Cherukuri Srinivasa Rao, Nandyal RARS ADR Johnson, and scientists Vijaya Bhaskar, Swarajya Lakshmi, Narayana Rao, Malleswara Reddy, and Trinatha Reddy were present at the event.
