Hyderabad: A tragic incident occurred at Gokulenagar, Ramanthapur, on Sunday midnight when five people were electrocuted during a Sri Krishnashtami chariot procession. As the vehicle pulling the chariot broke down, youths attempted to move it manually. In the process, the chariot came in contact with overhead live wires, electrocuting nine people. Locals rushed to help, but doctors later confirmed that five had died on the spot. The deceased were identified as Krishna Yadav (21), Suresh Yadav (34), Srikanth Reddy (35), Rudra Vikas (39), and Rajendra Reddy (15). Their bodies were shifted to Gandhi Hospital for post-mortem. Four others are undergoing treatment at a private hospital. Among the injured is Union Minister Kishan Reddy’s follower Ganemen Srinivas, it is learnt.
