Hyderabad: Close to 400 people from two Telugu States reached safely to New Delhi after getting stuck at border areas where tense situations prevailed for the last few days. Travel arrangements were made to send them to their native places in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, officials said. Around 146 Telangana people including 60 students studying in Srinagar arrived at Telangana Bhavan from Saturday. Telangana Bhavan spokesperson Ch Chakravathy told Deccan Chronicle on Sunday that necessary steps were being taken for the safety of everyone from the State. He said some of them were booking travel tickets on their own, while the State government was making travel arrangements to others after receiving a request from them. However, the government was making food arrangements for everyone till they reached their respective hometowns in Telangana. Senior officials at Telangana reviewed the arrangements to be made to send the people to their respective hometowns and assured that necessary steps would be taken for the safety of everyone from the State. Officials said more people were expected to reach Telangana Bhavan seeking help from the government. Meanwhile, as many as 254 students from Andhra Pradesh, who got stuck in Srinagar and Punjab, reached Andhra Pradesh Bhavan in New Delhi. Of which 60 students have already left to their respective hometowns in the State, while 194 students are presently staying at Andhra Pradesh Bhavan. Of the 194 students, 100 students are from NIT Srinagar, while 94 are from LP University in Punjab. Officials at Andhra Pradesh Bhavan are actively coordinating arrangements for their accommodation, food, local conveyance, and facilitation of railway ticket confirmations. A request was also made to the railways for ticket confirmation for over 40 students to send them to their hometowns, he said, adding that all necessary support was being extended to ensure their comfort and safe return to their hometowns.
