KAKINADA: The Rajamahendravaram Urban MLA Adireddy Srinivas has said that 4.5 acres of endowment land belonging to Lord Uma Ramalingeswara Swamy Devasthanam would be given on rent to reposition the central vegetable market.Srinivas told the media on Monday that the positioning of the central vegetable market in the heart of the city was causing frequent traffic jams. “No politician could sort out the problem for two and half decades. Now, I have made efforts to shift the market to Bommuru and the endowment department has issued a GO, granting its land for this purpose.” TD leader Majji Rambabu said Rs 40 lakh per annum would be given to the Endowment department by way of rental, and the area would be developed by the market committee. At present, the department earns only Rs 1 lakh per annum from this space.
