Hyderabad: A special drunken driving test was conducted by Cyberabad traffic police this weekend, leading to the apprehension of a significant 238 offenders. Of the total offenders caught in the drive, 187 of them were two-wheeler drivers, four three-wheelers, 45 four-wheelers and two heavy vehicle drivers. The police officials said as many as 220 offenders were caught with blood alcohol concentrations (BAC) ranging between 35 mg/100 ml and 200 mg/100 ml, while 13 offenders were caught with BAC ranging between 200 mg/100 ml and 300 mg/100 ml and five offenders were caught BAC ranging between 301 mg/100 ml to 500 mg/100 ml. All those who were caught would be produced before the court concerned, the police said. They said if anybody indulges in driving under the influence of alcohol and cause accidents killing people, such persons will be arrested and sent to jail under Section 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS)-2023 for which a maximum punishment is 10 years of jail and with fine
