Bhubaneswar: A 23-year-old tourist from Uttarakhand drowned at an eco-resort in Dhirapatana under Dhenkanal Sadar police limits early Saturday, triggering serious questions about safety standards at the facility.The deceased, identified as Tejas Ahuja, was part of a visiting group and is believed to have drowned while bathing in the resort’s swimming pool around 5 am. Fire service personnel rushed to the spot after being alerted and pulled him out of the pool. He was taken to a hospital in Athagarh, where doctors declared him dead.The incident has sparked concerns among visitors, many of whom allege that the tragedy could have been averted if proper safety measures were in place.
