Hyderabad: One person died and 13 others were injured after a concrete mixing lorry, which is not allowed on the city roads at that time, hit a trolley auto near NTR Nagar, close to Wipro, Gopanpally in Gachibowli around 9.30 am on Friday. According to Gachibowli inspector Mohd Habubullah Khan, the deceased has been identified as Dilkhush.A group of migrant workers was travelling from NTR Nagar towards Vattinagulapally road for work when an RMC lorry, moving in the same direction at high speed near the Wipro area, rammed into the trolley auto from behind, causing it to overturn. “The accident left around 14 people injured, two of whom suffered serious injuries. Among the injured, Dilkhush and Kimu were rushed to a private hospital. Dilkhush died due to injuries around 5 pm,” the inspector said. Gachibowli admin SI Anil Kumar said the lorry was plying during a restricted time. “Lorries are permitted in that area only between 11 am and 4 pm,” he said. The other workers, who hail from Bihar, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, suffered minor injuries. “Soon after the accident, the driver fled the scene. We will determine the exact cause once he is traced,” the SI added. Of the two severely injured workers, one remains critical. “He was bleeding heavily from the ear as the lorry overturned. His chances of survival are low,” an official said. Gachibowli police registered a case under the BNS. Dilkhush’s body was shifted to the Gandhi Hospital for postmortem. His brother has been called to the city. Further investigation is underway.
